The ICC’s chief prosecutor will determine the course of action for the complaint, AFP wrote on Sunday.
Gilles Devers, a lawyer representing the Palestinian NGOs, stated, “We are here first and foremost in our capacity as lawyers before the courts, before the prosecutor, to tell them that we have seen what has happened and that it justifies a genocide complaint.”
Devers further said that the Palestinians now have “an army of lawyers,” with 300 lawyers worldwide assembled in just 10 days, emphasizing that the Palestinian cause will be heard in all courts, both international and national.
Devers also noted, “This was no longer just a military operation with its abuses, which could amount to war crimes; we realized that it was beginning to look very much like an act of genocide.”
